Therapeutic healing should be the first order of treatment for anyone with an ache or a pain. It is most common for someone suffering from neck, back, or joint pain to see a medical doctor. And what usually happens is they are prescribed a muscle relaxer, pain medication, and or some kind of anti-inflammatory agent. The person is sent home to rest. But in real life, the person who has a life with responsibilities cannot really stay on the couch. Therapeutic healing is great for the person, who wants to take charge of his or her own healing process. Therapeutic healing can help to decrease the recovery time from an injury, pull, or strenuous workout. It is great for relieving tension headaches, sciatica, and repetitive-use injuries. As one gets older, more and more tension and stress is stored within the muscles. Massage is a great way of giving back to your body and counteracts the effects stress of daily living.

Modern medicine is advancing in leaps and bounds, which means that the health service is constantly being improved upon. However, modern medicine does not have all the answers. Taking responsibility for your own health can help prevent illness. A healthy lifestyle is essential to your mental, physical and spiritual wellbeing.
The idea that you can be responsible for your own health is an age old one, and has been recommended by alternative and complementary practitioners for hundreds of years. Doctors are increasingly recognizing just how valuable complementary therapies are and many nowadays will recommend them to their patients. Many patients use both approaches simultaneously. Some may have tried modern medicine and have turned to alternative therapies, as the name suggests, as an alternative way of helping.
